This is a design project that has served as a medium for exploring process, building science, methods, materials, philosophy.  It was never meant to be built, but was always meant to be buildable.  Its structural system is centered around mass-timber construction, including glulam and CLT  (cross-laminated timber).  In this building, these structural elements are not meant to exist as an invisible skeleton to be covered up by "aesthetically pleasing" facades.  The structural system is visible, out in the open; its lines and its role, self-evident.  All the other elements take their rhythm from the structure.
